  1. Damon Watson, candidate for Circuit Court Judge, Place 15, to address the Mayor and members of the City Council.
  2. Presentation by the students of the class of 2017-2018 Leadership Mountain Brook.
  3. Proclamation: May 3, 2018, proclaimed National Day of Prayer.
  4. Approval of the minutes of the April 9, 2018, regular meeting of the City Council.
  5. Consideration: Resolution declaring certain equipment surplus and authorizing its sale at public internet auction or disposal of such items not sold at said auction.
  6. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a through-road maintenance agreement between the City and Jefferson County Commission.
  7. Consideration: Resolution authorizing Sain Associates to prepare a TAP sidewalk grant application for and on behalf of the City with respect to a proposed sidewalk along the Mountain Brook segment of Hagood Street.
  8. Public hearing: Consideration of an ordinance rezoning the Country Club of Birmingham from Residence A District to Recreational-2 District.
  9. Announcement: The City Council shall conduct a public hearing on May, 14, 2018, at 7 p.m. to consider an ordinance rezoning the property located in the vicinity of Overton Village from Mixed Use to Residence F and Residence G and amending the corresponding Overton Village Building and Development Regulating Plan from “Secondary Frontage” to “Residential Neighborhood Frontage”.
  10. Announcement: The next regular meeting of the City Council is May 14, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall located at 56 Church Street, Mountain Brook, AL 35213.
  11. Comments from residents.

  1. Presentations (3) by the students of the class of 2017-2018 Leadership Mountain Brook.
  2. Approval of the minutes of the March 26, 2018, regular meeting of the City Council.
  3. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the City’s participation in the 2018 “Back-to-School” Sales Tax Holiday, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, and ending at twelve midnight on Sunday, July 22, 2018, whereby the City of Mountain Brook will exempt certain school supplies, computers, and clothing from municipal sales or use tax in conformance with the time period, terms and conditions, and definitions as provided for the “State of Alabama Sales Tax Holiday” (Act 2017-120, Rule 810-6-3-.65)
  4. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a license agreement between the City and Zoobean with respect to a mobile responsive web application to facilitate library patrons’ access to and participation in the library’s programs.
  5. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a service and license agreement between the City and Swell Fundraising, LLC for its development and hosting of a web application to facilitate fundraising efforts with respect to the proposed Mountain Brook Elementary restroom building.
  6. Consideration: Resolution re-appointing Richard Murray, IV to the Board of Education of the City of Mountain Brook, to serve without compensation, with the term of office to end May 31, 2023.
  7. Public hearing: Consideration of an ordinance amending Sec. 129-211, Community Shopping District, of the City Code.
  8. Announcement: The City Council shall conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. to consider a request to rezone the Country Club of Birmingham property from Residence-A District to Recreational-2 District (3239 and 3339 Country Club Road).
  9. Announcement: The next regular meeting of the City Council is Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall located at 56 Church Street, Mountain Brook, AL 35213.
  10. Comments from residents.
