Consideration: Resolution authorizing the City’s participation in the 2021 “State of Alabama Sales Tax Holiday” beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, and ending at twelve midnight on Sunday, July 18, 2021, the City of Mountain Brook whereby the City shall exempt certain school supplies, computers, and clothing from municipal sales or use tax.
  6. Consideration: Resolution declaring a vehicle surplus and authorizing its conveyance to the City of Tuskegee.
  7. Consideration: Resolution amending the Employee Handbook with respect to take-home vehicles.
  8. Consideration: Resolution appointment a member to the Mountain City Schools Brook Board of Education to serve without compensation through May 31, 2026.
  9. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a contractor agreement for the installation of a pedestrian-activated flashing signal for the intersection of Montevallo Road and Glencoe Drive.

  5. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a professional services agreement between the City and Sain Associates for the study of the potential necessity of a pedestrian crosswalk at the Mountain Brook Village Circle
  6. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement between the City and United Ability, Inc. (dba Gone For Good Document Destruction) to provide community document destruction and e-waste recycling services.
  7. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the removal of a street light between 321 and 325 Overbrook Road in Mountain Brook.
  8. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of an Agreement for Fire and EMS Services for C-K Breckenridge, LLC.
  9. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the installation of a street light in the vicinity of 3820 Spring Valley Road.
  10. Consideration:  Resolution authorizing the execution of a contractor agreement between the City and Goodgame Company with respect to the Public Works roof replacement project.
  11. Consideration: Ordinance extending for another 90-days the temporary modification of the temporary restaurant sidewalk dining regulations first implemented upon the adoption of Ordinance No. 2067 on May 11, 2020 and subsequently extended upon the adoption of Ordinance Nos. 2073 on August 10, 2020 and 2088 on November 9, 2020).
  12. Consideration: Ordinance extending for another 90-days the time restrictions for the on-street public parking located in Mountain Brook, Crestline and English Village first implemented upon the adoption of Ordinance No. 2068 on May 11, 2020 and subsequently extended upon the adoption of Ordinance Nos. 2074 on August 10, 2020 and 2089 on November 9, 2020.
  13. Consideration: Resolution closing the intersection of Canterbury Road at Village Circle indefinitely (temporary closure first authorized upon the adoption of Resolution No. 2017-086 adopted on July 18, 2017).

As authorized by the Governor of the State of Alabama on March 18, 2020, elected officials may deliberate by means of telephone conference, video conference or other similar means of communication. Members of the public are also invited to listen, observe and participate in public meetings by such means as well.

Due to COVID-19, public gatherings of 10 or more are generally not permitted without adequate social distancing.   1. Resolution expressing gratitude to Philip E. Black for his service on the City Council.
  2. Approval of the minutes of the November 23, 2020, regular meeting of the City Council.
  3. Consideration: Resolution ratifying the execution of an agreement between the City and Stone & Sons Electrical Contractors, Inc., for the installation of a Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacon (RRFB) for the crosswalk at the intersection of Overbrook Road at Pine Crest Road.
  4. Consideration: Resolution amending the City’s Storm Water Management Program Plan (Ordinance No. 2063) effective January 1, 2021.
  5. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement for the installation of water service and fountain at Cahaba River Walk.
  6. Consideration: Resolution ratifying and reaffirming the City’s commitment to promote safe workplace guidelines as suggested by the City’s workers’ compensation insurer.
  7. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a contract between the City and Hoke Animal Clinic for veterinary services.
  8. Consideration: Resolution requesting the Alabama Legislature introduce for consideration a local bill granting the City the authority to establish Entertainment Districts in Crestline, English and/or Mountain Brook Villages.
  9. Consideration: Ordinance authorizing the placement of stop signs (2) on Vine Street at its intersection with Dexter Avenue (making the intersection a 4-way stop).
  10. Consideration: Ordinance authorizing the placement of a stop sign at Arundel Drive (southbound) at its intersection with Asbury Road (making the intersection a 3-way stop).
  11. Consideration: Ordinance amending Chapters 14 and 6 of the City Code with respect to animal boarding and other fees and disposal of impounded animals, respectively.
  12. Announcement: The next regular meeting of the City Council is January 11, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. (means and location to be announced).
