As authorized by the Governor of the State of Alabama on March 18, 2020, elected officials may deliberate by means of telephone conference, video conference or other similar means of communication. Members of the public are also invited to listen, observe and participate in public meetings by such means as well.

Due to COVID-19, public gatherings of 10 or more without proper distancing and face coverings are discouraged. Should anyone wish to listen, observe or participate in the City Council meeting above, please join by way of the Zoom app (re: Meeting ID 801-559-1126, password 04262021). Should the meeting be interrupted for any reason, meeting attendees, participants and presenters should contact the City at city@mtnbrook.org for instructions.
  1. Recognition of La Paz for operating in the City for 30+ years.
  2. Consideration: Resolution expressing gratitude to Brent Peinhardt for his service to the City.
  3. Presentations (2) by Leadership Mountain Brook students and recap of last year’s Mountain Brook Promotional Video project.
  4. Approval of the minutes of the April 12, 2021, regular meeting of the City Council.
  5. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the City’s participation in the 2021 “State of Alabama Sales Tax Holiday” beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, and ending at twelve midnight on Sunday, July 18, 2021, the City of Mountain Brook whereby the City shall exempt certain school supplies, computers, and clothing from municipal sales or use tax.
  6. Consideration: Resolution declaring a vehicle surplus and authorizing its conveyance to the City of Tuskegee.
  7. Consideration: Resolution amending the Employee Handbook with respect to take-home vehicles.
  8. Consideration: Resolution appointment a member to the Mountain City Schools Brook Board of Education to serve without compensation through May 31, 2026.
  9. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a contractor agreement for the installation of a pedestrian-activated flashing signal for the intersection of Montevallo Road and Glencoe Drive.
  10. Comments from residents and online attendees.
  11. Announcement: The next regular meeting of the City Council is May 10, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.

  4. Set date for City Council’s FY-2022 Budget planning session-Sam Gaston
  5. Cherokee Bend field improvements update-Dale Brasher (It is contemplated that an implementation agreement shall be presented for consideration at the next meeting of the City Council once the BOE has awarded the bid and executed the construction contract.)

  5. Consideration: Resolution declaring certain computer equipment surplus and authorizing its sale at public Internet auction (or disposal for items not sold at said auction).
  6. Consideration:  Ordinance modifying the provisions of Ordinance No. 2099 regarding the designation of of parking spaces included in the modified the time restrictions for the on-street public parking located in Mountain Brook, Crestline and English Village.
  7. Comments from residents and online attendees.
  8. Announcement: The next regular meeting of the City Council is April 26, 2021, at 7:00 p.m..
