As authorized by the Governor of the State of Alabama on March 18, 2020, elected officials may deliberate by means of telephone conference, video conference or other similar means of communication. Members of the public are also invited to listen, observe and participate in public meetings by such means as well.

Seating capacity at the 7 p.m. meeting is expected to be approximately 45. Should attendance exceed seating capacity, persons may not be allowed into the Council room. Anyone turned away at the door may tune into the meeting by way of the Zoom app (re: Meeting ID 801-559-1126, password 06282021). Unvaccinated attendees are asked to mask. N95 masks will be available at the door.

  4. Approval of the minutes of the June 11, 2021, special meeting of the City Council.
  5. Approval of the minutes of the June 14, 2021, regular meeting of the City Council.
  6. Approval of the minutes of the June 21, 2021, special meeting of the City Council.
  7. Consideration: Resolution amending Resolution Nos. 2021-066 and 069 authorizing the formation of Cahaba Solid Waste Disposal Authority (adding cities of Homewood and Clanton to the Authority).
  8. Consideration: Resolution awarding the bid for the Hagood Street sidewalk construction project and authorizing the execution of a construction contract for same.
  9. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a professional services agreement between the City and Sain Associates for construction, engineering and inspection services for the Hagood Street sidewalk project.
  10. Consideration: Resolution amending the Hagood Street sidewalk Cost Sharing Agreement between the City and City of Birmingham with respect to a segment of sidewalk to be constructed between Kingsbury Avenue and Dunston Avenue (Alternate 1).
  11. Consideration: Resolution to approve Stormwater Drainage Facilities Construction Agreement between City and Owners of Lot at 22 Clarendon in substantially the presented form, subject to final revisions acceptable by Mayor and City Attorney.
  12. Consideration: Ordinance rezoning the parcel located at 3787 W. Jackson Boulevard from its current Recreational District to Residence-B District.
  13. Responses to public inquiries posed at the regular meeting of June 14, 2021related to: a) Board of Education’s diversity initiative, b) Policies regarding use of school property for public assemblies, c) O’Neal Library’s collection development policies
  14. Comments from residents and attendees.
  15. Announcement: The next regular meeting of the City Council is July 12, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.

  2. Consideration: Resolution recommending to the ABC Board the issuance of a 020 – Restaurant Retail Liquor license to Slims Pizza and Bar LLC (doing business as Slims Pizzeria) located at 65 Church Street, Mountain Brook, AL 35213.
  3. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the payment from the General Fund of $300,000 into the City of Mountain Brook Section 115 (retiree medical insurance) Trust for investment in accordance with the City’s investment policy (Resolution No. 2020-053) said deposit to be made in three (3) installments between June 15 and September 15, 2021.
  4. Consideration: Resolution designating an Authorized Representative of the City Council for the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to be legally authorized to bind the City and to execute the Acceptance of Award terms.
  5. Consideration: Resolution declaring certain property surplus and authorizing its sale at public Internet auction (or disposal of items not sold).
  6. Consideration: Resolution authorizing the execution of a professional services agreement between the City and Skipper Consulting with respect to the English Village Entertainment District traffic study.
